At age eleven Coach Duane Silver knew he wanted to teach the game of basketball. While growing up in Central Missouri he spent many hours studying and playing basketball. After coaching seven years in Missouri, and moving to Waco Texas in 1977 to coach at La Vega High School, he compiled:
Since retiring in 1999, Coach Duane Silver has been involved
in more of the business side of basketball. He is co-founder
of CoachSilver.Com where he shares his expertise
and experience in basketball serving as associate coach and scout
for a former player and assistant coach at La Vega High School,
Kevin Gill. Kevin is currently the Head Men’s Basketball Coach
at McClennan Community College in Waco, TX.

At age five Coach Larren Silver began playing basketball and soon
knew he wanted to play collegiately. While practicing daily, Coach
Larren Silver devised an hour-long workout that is extermely demanding
and intense. This brilliant, gritty workout essentially enabled
Larren Silver to be the fifth leading scorer in the state of Texas
at Reicher Catholic High School in 1995. He continued to produce
positive results while in college at New Mexico Junior College and
the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. He is the all-time career
leader in free-throw percentage at both of these schools. Coach
Larren Silver was also awarded the following honors in college:
Larren Silver is currently the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at McLennan Community College in Waco, Tx., one of the top junior colleges in the nation! After assisting at Midland College and helping lead them to 26 wins, a Region V tourney championship, and an elite 8 finish at Hutchinson, KS at the national junior college tournament. Coach Larren Silver served as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach
at his alma mater, Reicher Catholic High School, in Waco, TX. Also,
co-founder of CoachSilver.Com. Larren uses his fluency in
spanish to serve as a scout, agent and coach for American college
players
who desire to play in the Liga Nacional Baloncesto Profesional
or the National Professional Basketball League; which is the Republic
of Mexico's first tier basketball league. |
